Prof Dr. Andrew Sharman - Keynote Speaker

Andrew is the Managing Partner of RMS, a global consultancy specializing in culture and leadership supporting organizations around the world through industry sectors including mining, construction, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and FMCG.

Malcolm Staves - Keynote Speaker

Malcolm Staves is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He also has an MSc in Integrated Environmental Management from Bath University. 

Previously a site engineering technologist and a plant manager he has worked in Corporate Environment, Health & Safety for several companies including American National Can, Pechiney, Alcan and Bureau Veritas. He joined L’Oréal in 2008 as Group Health & Safety Director where he is responsible for the development of the Groups Health & Safety and Fire Prevention strategies, objectives and action plans.

Malcolm’s approach is based on the three pillars of risk management, excellence and beyond. He believes in the deployment of the right tool at the right time, visible felt leadership at all levels and that sustained health & safety performance is a result of the culture.

Malcolm is active globally in raising the profile of the role of Health & Safety within the Human capital agenda and with associated stakeholders. He is the current Occupational Health & Safety expert partner to the Capitals Coalition. 

He is married and lives in France with his three children and enjoys reading, science fiction and following Chelsea football club.

Dr. Ralf Franke was born August 24, 1964. He is married and has two daughters.

He was a professional soldier and had officer training at the German Federal Armed Forces from 1983 to 1999. He studied Medicine at the University Mainz and had his training at the German Federal Armed Forces Hospital in Ulm. He did his doctorate in 1992, finished his specialist training for general medicine in 1996 and for occupational medicine in 2000. Since 2009 he has been a specialist for occupational safety.

Dr. Franke has worked in executive positions in occupational health management and occupational safety with MTU Aero Engines GmbH and Daimler AG before joining Siemens AG in 2009.

Dr. Philippe Delquié - Speaker

Dr. Delquié joined the George Washington University School of Business in Washington DC in 2009. Previously, he held faculty appointments at INSEAD France, École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business (visiting), and the University of Texas at Austin.

His research in risk and decision-making combines experimental studies of human behavior and analytical modeling to develop prescriptive methods to improve decision performance in business, safety, and policy. Philippe Delquié holds an MS and a PhD from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and a BS in Civil Engineering from École Nationale des Travaux Publics, Lyon, France.

Funmi Adegbola - Speaker

Funmi is the Founder of the Society of Safety, Health and Environment, Africa. She is the CEO of CTS Globe- a leading HSE training and consulting firm in the UK and Africa. 

Funmi is one of the 36 Council Member of Institution of Safety and Health (IOSH), a certified HSE Management Consultant, Instructor and Auditor of many international qualifications and certifications - ISO 45001(Occupational Health and Safety Management System), ISO9001(Quality Management System), ISO14001 (Environment Management System), ISO 31000 (Risk Manager) to name the few as well as an Author of a Child Safety Book.
 
She has a wealth of experience in the Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing space that spans nearly two decades both in the UK and Nigeria; and has helped shape the evolution of Health, Safety and Environment compliance in different parts of the world and in various industries, including the Insurance and Financial sectors in Lagos State, Nigeria; in her capacity as a Consultant to The Lagos State Safety Commission. 
 
Funmi holds her first degree in Forensic Science and her second degree in Law. She has a postgraduate degree in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment with a PhD in Organisational Wellbeing in view.

Tim Eldridge - Panel One

Tim has over 25 years’ experience managing health and safety, working in the UK, Middle East and Australia. He is also Vice-President and a Chartered Member of IOSH.

Tim is currently the Global Head of Health and Safety for HSBC bank, leading an international team of health and safety professionals looking after over 200,000 employees in 60+ countries. Tim also has significant experience with health and safety regulators, as an Inspector for the UK HSE; and also with the OHS regulators in South Australia and Queensland.

Tim has an active interest in the wellbeing agenda, particularly around how employers can enhance employee wellbeing (and productivity) through the physical design of the workplace and nutrition and fitness programmes.

Paul Hendry - Panel One

Paul started his career in Construction and transitioned to HSE in 1998. He joined Jacobs in 2011 as Senior HSE Manager for the UK Buildings & Infrastructure region and has progressed through the organisation in various other HSE roles to present, where he is currently Vice President of Global HSE, P&PS.

His passion is projects and has been involved in many iconic construction projects in his career across the Globe both internal and external to Jacobs.

He realised that in order to deliver good projects and good work that we needed our workforce to be mentally healthy and thriving. With the help of others, he launched the Jacobs Mental Health Matters program in 2015 in the UK and this has now been embraced Globally.

One Million Lives is now the next stage of our Mental Health Matters program. One Million Lives uses technology and networks to start a movement that reaches over one million people globally by:

Tamara Parris is the Director of Community Development at Safeopedia, and owner of EHS Professionals Group on LinkedIn. Tamara has been in the Health and Safety field for over 20 years, her industry experiences include the Construction sector, CCTV and Security, and Commercial Retail industries. Prior to being a safety professional Tamara was a Social Worker for many years.

Melissa Mark-Joyce

Melissa has 20 years experience in engineering, operations management and HSE leadership roles predominantly in the Oil and Gas industry and has worked in Trinidad, United States and United Kingdom. Melissa recently moved to the Medical Device industry in the role of Group Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager with Inspiration Healthcare. 

Melissa holds a B.Sc. in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of the West Indies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a member of IIRSM and recently attained CMIOSH certification with IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health). 

Melissa is deeply passionate about access to STEM education for young girls and deepening the impact of the HSE discipline in the workplace. As a result, she is past Chair of the Women’s Energy Network Young Women Energized Program, a past member of the ASSP (American Society of Safety Professionals) Membership Development Committee and currently a member of the IOSH Chiltern Branch committee as well as a Trustee on the 1% Safer Board.
